Dr. Susie Briggs, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Briggs was born in Hayward, California. When she was three years old her family moved to a little farm in southern Illinois.
She studied at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She then enrolled in pre-med studies at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Il. During this time, she was involved in a car accident. After being told the injury to her back required surgery to correct, she sought the care of a chiropractor. This personal experience with the healing power of chiropractic led her to change her focus from medical to chiropractic health care.
After graduating Palmer College of Chiropractic, President of the class of 1992, Dr. Briggs moved to Rockford, IL to open her practice. For the past 23 years she has honed her skills as a diagnostician and holistic health care provider. Constantly studying new research, attending chiropractic and healthcare conferences, and collaborating with healthcare innovators throughout the nation, Dr. Briggs brings an ever expanding tool kit of knowledge and technique to her practice. The depth and scope of her medical knowledge enable her to effectively interface with patients other physicians to create a well-coordinated treatment plan.
As an alumnus of Clayton School of Nutrition where she is completing her thesis work for a PhD in Nutrition, dietary and nutritional counseling are an integral part of Dr. Briggs approach to helping patients achieve optimal long-lasting health.
Dr. Briggs practices a multitude of chiropractic techniques including, Thompson, Diversified, SOT (Sacral Occipital Technique), Activator, Cervical Chair, Cox Distraction, Flexion Distraction, Cranial Sacral.
